Aditya Birla Payments Bank
The Indian Government launched a new initiative called Payments Bank to improve access to banking & finance services. The main objective was to increase the reach for digital banking.
Role
My role as a Sr. UX/UI Designer included independently creating wireframes & designs, ensuring that all timelines were met, and overseeing the transition of designs to development.
The Approach
The purpose of this bank was to bring rural people into the digital ecosystem and provide them with easy fund transfers, bill payments, and the ability to open a savings account. By simplifying financial management, the bank aims to make banking as easy as counting 123, allowing more people to benefit from the services.
Concept Building
Given that our banking app was targeted at urban, semi-urban, rural demographics, it was crucial to identify the critical features that would be most commonly used. Understanding these key features was essential for ensuring that our app met the needs and expectations of our target users.
Persona Creation
We recognized that our user base would vary in terms of their financial and digital literacy, Therefore, we needed to be cautious in defining the user journeys, particularly for those who were less digitally savvy, to ensure they could easily use the app.
A Day in User's Life
Creating a "Day in the Life" scenario provided us with valuable insights into where the app could intervene in daily routine and identify innovative opportunities for our app to become an integral part of the user's life.
Concepts and Design
With the defined phase closed, all the journeys were designed across the web and app.

Interface Design
Once the key journeys were finalized in wireframes, we proceeded with the visual design phase. As a member of both the UX and UI teams, it was crucial to ensure that all essential elements were aligned while incorporating the feedback we received during the UX phase.
